Electric car & LCV grants have changed from 18th March 2021 – What you need to know.
The government has announced changes to the grant scheme for electric cars & vans. The update has come into play to target less expensive models and to open up a greater range of affordable vehicles available, allowing the scheme’s funding to go further and help more people make the switch to an electric vehicle.
The Department for Transport will provide grants of up to £2,500 for electric vehicles on cars priced under £35,000. This sees a huge cut in the grant as it previously allowed a £3,000 reduction in price for vehicles up to £50,000.
The number of electric car models priced under £35,000 has increased and will continue to do so.
The plug-in car grant was introduced 10 years ago to give a boost to the market for zero-emission vehicles. Since 2011, the government has provided nearly£1.3 billion in plug-in vehicle grant funding to bring low emission vehicles onto UK roads, supporting the purchase of more than 285,000 vehicles.
Vans grants have also been reduced and vary depending upon the payload, Co2 emissions, and range – Please contact us for more information.
Yorkshire Fleet has the following stock vehicles available with a £3,000 grant in place….. Vauxhall e-Corsa, Peugeot e-2008, Hyundai Kona & Volkswagen ID-3.
